What to ask
before saying yes

I've hired a marketing agency before and got burned. Why would Slick Digital be any different?

Honest answer: most agencies deserve the reputation. The pattern is identical every time. A senior closer sells you, a junior account manager runs the work, the reports show 'rankings' and 'impressions' but not phone calls or signups, and twelve months later you're still locked into the contract you signed. Slick Digital is built around the opposite stack. Senior people stay on your account from kickoff to launch, the only metrics we report are the ones that show up in your bank account (calls, signups, booked jobs), and there's no annual lock-in. Before you sign anything, ask us for the name of the person who'll be in your inbox on day 60. If it's not the same person pitching you today, that's the answer.

Will I be locked into a long contract or hit with an auto-renewal I can't escape?

No. We don't do 12-month minimums, 90-day-prior written-cancellation clauses, or auto-renewals that hit your card without warning. Those clauses exist because the underlying work doesn't earn its keep month to month. Agencies need the contract because they know you'd leave if you weren't forced to stay. Our engagements are month-to-month after an initial build, and if at any point you don't see the work earning its keep, you give us notice and we wrap up. The contract should never be the reason you stay. The results should be.

Will I actually own my website, domain, accounts, and customer data when this is over?

Yes. Explicitly, in writing, before anything is built. Your site code lives in your repository. Your domain stays in your registrar. Your Google Business Profile, ad accounts, analytics, customer data, and any phone numbers we provision all belong to your business from day one. This is in direct response to a pattern we've seen too many times: an agency goes quiet, the owner asks for the website files, and is handed an empty URL or told the code is the agency's intellectual property. That doesn't happen here.

I've spent thousands on SEO and Google Ads with 'page-1 rankings' and zero actual leads. How is what you do different?

The 'page-1' report is the oldest trick in the agency book. Rank you for a keyword no buyer ever types, and call it a win. Real marketing reports back the calls, the form fills, the booked jobs, and what it cost to generate each one. We tie every channel to an outcome you can verify in your own inbox or CRM, and if a channel isn't producing leads that turn into revenue, we kill it and reallocate the spend. You'll see the math in plain English every month, not a 14-tab dashboard you need a PhD to read.

My business is too specific. Won't I get a generic agency playbook?

A generic playbook is what you get when an agency runs the same funnel for 40 clients across 40 industries and calls it 'our proven system.' Before we write a single line of copy or set up a single campaign, we do voice-of-customer work in your specific niche. We read your reviews, your competitors' reviews, the forums where your customers complain, and the exact phrases your existing buyers use when they describe what they hired you for. The site and the campaigns then mirror that language back at the buyer, which is why they convert. If your industry has shoulder seasons, regulatory quirks, technical vocabulary that matters, or a customer type your last agency ignored, that lives in the brief, not as a footnote.

I've heard AI chatbots annoy customers. Won't this just make my business feel robotic?

That fear is well-founded. Surveys consistently show most consumers have abandoned a purchase because a chatbot frustrated them, and the majority feel deceived when a bot pretends to be a human. The wrong AI implementation actively costs you customers. The right one quietly handles the work no human wants to do: answering 'what are your hours' at 11pm, capturing the after-hours emergency call your competitor's voicemail just lost, and following up on the quote you forgot about two weeks ago. We never use AI to fake a human conversation. Every AI surface we ship has a one-tap handoff to an actual person, and if it can't pass the 'would I be comfortable with my own mom calling this number' test, it doesn't go live.

How much does a project cost?

It varies by scope, but we publish a price up front before any work starts. No hourly meter, no surprise change-orders, no 'enterprise pricing' wall. A focused landing page starts in the mid-to-high three figures; a full site with marketing and automation runs higher. After the first consultation we send a fixed-price proposal with the deliverables spelled out line by line, so you can compare it against any other quote on the same terms. If the proposal doesn't fit your budget, we'll tell you what to cut to get there, instead of padding the scope to hit a number.

How long does it take, and what do I actually have to do?

A typical first build runs two to four weeks depending on scope. A landing page is closer to two weeks; a full site with marketing and automation runs three to four. Your job is to show up for a 30-minute kickoff, answer a few short async questions during the research phase, and review one staging link before launch. That's it. You don't have to learn a new tool, log into a project management system, write copy yourself, or chase status updates. The reason most agency engagements feel like a second job for the owner is because the agency is using the client to fill in the gaps in their own process. We won't.
